Cong wins floor test in Uttarakhand; Centre tells SC President’s rule will be revoked

NEW DELHI :  The Harish Rawat Government has proved majority in the Uttarakhand Assembly, the Supreme Court was informed by the Centre today on the basis of the results of the floor test held yesterday. The Centre also told the apex court that the President’s rule imposed in the state on March 27 was being revoked.
The results of the floor test, held on the direction of the Supreme Court, were yesterday sent to the court in a sealed cover. The Uttarakhand case had been brought to the Supreme Court by the Centre when it challenged the Nainital High Court order staying President’s rule in the state which was imposed just a day before the floor test in the state Assembly was to be held last month.
