JAMMU, Nov 16: Congress today said it will regain its lost ground in the upcoming DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir by defeating the communal and divisive forces in the country.
“People should remain guard against the forces that pose a challenge to the basic idea of India and secularism promoted by the Congress. The party workers should be ready to defeat the designs of the communal and divisive forces in the country,” former minister Himachal Pradesh and AICC secretary Sudhir Sharma said while chairing workers meet of Block Bhalwal today.
Prominent among those who addressed the meeting included PCC vice president Raman Bhalla, Th Balwan Singh & Manmohan Singh PCC general secretary, Hari Singh Chib president DCC Jammu Rural, Udey Bhanu president JKPYC , Jung Bahadur Block president, Vibhishan Singh, Kuldeep Raj Chairman BDC.
Expressing hope that the party would regain its lost ground in J&K, Sharma  said the Congress will emerge stronger in J&K. The workers must carry out the programmes and achievements of the party to the masses more vigorously in the wake of coming elections to DDC. He said Congress has made huge contributions and sacrifices for unity and integrity of country will never compromise to retain this at any cost.
“I want to remind you about the promises made by BJP in Jammu during the election in 2014 which have fallen flat,” he said. “What happened to those promises, have they fulfilled any single promise during their rule Sharma questioned and asked the people to give a befitting reply to BJP and other opportunist forces for exploiting them and playing with their emotions, from time to time,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Raman Bhalla described Congress party as “strong” and “vibrant” in J&K, capable enough to defeat anti-people forces in the country and that Congress Party has never compromised on its ideology, principles for the sake of power. He said the party shall remain committed to the cause of strengthening people and working for the peace, progress and overall development of the State.
Bhalla said that the Congress “alone” stands guarantee to secular fabric, diversity and unity in the country. He said the party will remain committed to fight and defeat the “fascist”, “communal” forces posing threat to secular fabric of the country.
