RAJOURI, Nov 19: Shabir Ahmed Khan, ex-Minister and MLA Rajouri today addressed a convention of Congress party workers at Kheora and public meeting at Jawahar Nagar where he sought votes for him.
While addressing the gathering, Khan listed the steps taken by Congress Government to empower people politically and economically besides initiating measures to fulfill the demands of employees and unemployed. “Congress is committed to overall development of the State, especially hilly backward, remote and border areas,” he added.
Mr Khan said that sanctioning of Medical College for Rajouri, GNM College for Rajouri, ANMT School Rajouri, 39 sub-centres for Rajouri constituency were the historic decisions for the people of Rajouri to provide best health care services to the masses.
He lambasted the Opposition leaders of PDP, BJP and NC for exploiting people on baseless issues against him and his party. “Those who could not do well even when they got mandate for years together, are now labeling charges against me but people of Rajouri will teach such elements a lesson in the Assembly elections,” he said.
Maintaining that he was the only MLA who visited each and every corner of Rajouri constituency, Mr Khan appealed the public to strengthen Congress in the best interest of the people of the State and area in particular. He assured the public that overall development will be the focus of next phase, where poor and common people shall be empowered.
