Cong vibrant force in J&K: Mir

SRINAGAR,  July 30: Describing Congress Party as an instrument of service to the people, having always worked for upliftment  of the people keeping aside their caste, colour, region or religion,  Pradesh Congress Committee chief  G A Mir has said that Congress  has always defeated the autocratic behaviour of those who believe in suppressing  and victimizing the masses  while in power.
Addressing a day long party convention at Kangan in Ganderbal district today, Mr Mir said  that Congress Party has always tried to take everyone on board with regard o equal development of all the three regions of the State. He said Congress shall always work for the overall development, betterment and well being of the people, as this party alone has delivered enough and has the commitment and conviction to make the State of Jammu and Kashmir a progressive developing and bring it at par with other States of the Country.
Terming Congress Party as an instrument of service to the people PCC chief exhorted the party workers to remain steadfast in serving the people. On this occasion  Mir took the opportunity to appreciate the fact that Congress Party workers have always been at the forefront in indentifying issues confronting people, for their resolution.
PCC chief said that Congress Party workers have been in opposition and in power also; but  in whatever circumstances,  party cadres remained dedicated to their cause for the fact they (Congress workers) believe that they are meant for serving the society not self. He  said that Congress party is in a vibrant situation in all the three regions of the State and has the will to take everyone on board with regard to development of the State.
Referring to the ongoing Membership drive in the State, Mir  said that Congress has remained  No. 1  in  enrolling the members during its Membership drive in the State and he   felt confident that this time too,  the Party would emerge No. 1 in enrolling the members from every nook and corner of the State.
Former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed and MLC,  G N Monga said that Congress Party’s mission has always been to  serve the people, being committed for development of the people, Congress Party  has always maintained secular fabric of the country at all costs, never allowed anyone to disturb the democratic set up of the country or State of J&K.  They urged the Party workers to defeat those forces who want to run their business by dividing the people on communal line and disturbing the secular character of the State.
Prominent among others  who addressed the gathering included MLAs Usman Majeed and Mohd Amin Bhat; Gulam Mohd Ganie, Haji Ali Mohd Bhat, Irfan Naqeeb, Abid Kashmiri,  Abdul Rehmn Magray and  Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday.
