Cong takes strong exception to harassment of Shri Amarnath Langer Committee

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 18: Congress has taken strong exception to the harassment of Shri Amarnath Langer Committee, who have been prevented from proceeding at Lakhanpur for more than 48 hours and also questioned the State administration and BJP led Centre Government for their utter failure to respect the religious sentiments of people.
Hitting hard at the attitude of State administration for causing undue harassment and creating hurdles deliberately to the Langer Sevadars who provide free services to the Shri Amarnath pilgrims, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma criticized the State and Centre Government for their failure to ensure smooth services as result of which a message is going across the nation to discourage the pilgrims.
He said it is unfortunate that this is happening during BJP Government at the Centre and J&K being under direct Centre rule, when large number of Langer Committee Members had remained under open sky at Lakhanpur for more than two days during hard summer.
He asked Governor to take stock of situation as there were already reports that hurdles are being created in the smooth working of Langer Committee. He said that such attitude will not be tolerated and all sorts of facilities should be given to the pilgrims.
