Cong seeks relief, speedy restoration of essential supplies

JAMMU, Jan 10: JKPCC chief GA Mir has urged the LG administration to expedite the restoration work of power and water supply and other essential services and urgent works disrupted due to the heavy rains and snow.
In a statement, Mir said that several areas, especially villages are in darkness due to disruption of power on account of damages to the transformers, lines and poles besides affecting water supplies and essential connectivity’s to some areas.
He said that the essential services and supplies should be restored on war footing to give relief to the affected population. He also urged for immediate relief and rescue measures to those houses have been damaged and are without proper shelter. The Govt. must come to their rescue and provide immediate relief and rehabilitation besides assessment of the actual damage to the individual properties besides public utility services.
PCC chief urged for complete assessment of the damages to the individual properties and providing of immediate financial relief to the affected people, as delay defeats justice. He also appealed to the party cadres to come to the rescue of poor and needy in their respective areas.
