JAMMU, July 3: MP Shamsher Singh Manhas while speaking in Rajya Sabha lambasted opposition parties especially Congress for its non-serious approach towards Jammu and Kashmir. He held the party responsible for making the State a battle ground after incorporating temporary provisions like Article 370.
He added that Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh is an integral part of India and people of the State are true nationalists and there is no room for separatism and division in the State.
He also admired the role of Maharaja Hari Singh and his wish to be with India before independence as he had raised voice against the Britishers to leave the country and let people of India live freely and independently.
While supporting the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Bill, he said that it was need of the hour to look after the issues of weaker and downtrodden in the State, and it’s a matter of pride for all that Narendra Modi led BJP Government at Center has been taking good care of the people on ground level.
He also said that reservation benefits to the people living alongside International Border (IB) is a historical step by this Government and first time such a brilliant mechanism has been adopted to ensure on ground development and to the last man expecting it in border and far -flung areas.
