JAMMU, Aug 28: A deputation of OBC Department of the Pradesh Congress Committee led by Suresh Kumar Dogra met Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma and presented a memorandum to him.
The OBC Cell showed its resentment against Government for not lifting the undue security and house arrests of the main- stream leaders of the Pradesh Congress Committee including State president JKPCC, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and vice president JKPCC Raman Bhalla. Dogra said there is a chaos situation prevailing on the House arrests of the main stream leaders of Congress; they are unnecessarily facing the situation for no cause and reasons.
Dogra said that August 19, they had a meeting with Inspector General of Police Jammu for lifting of undue forces from the houses of main stream leaders of our party and a memorandum was also presented to IGP regarding this. In which the said officer assured, to end the house arrest of the leaders within the period of 2 or 3 days but the statement of the IGP stood false, and also in a statement of Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma had stated that, these are not restrictions but extra security.
The OBC Cell and the leaders of the Congress party of J&K urge the Government to free main stream leaders and also set them free for mass communication.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Parshotam Lal Mehra (VC) , Raqeeq Khan, State president NSUI, Abhishek Kumar, Raj Kumar Mehra and Rajinder Verma.
