SAMBA, Aug 28: In a major breakthrough during routine checking at Vijaypur, district Police Samba has recovered an imported pistol alongwith four live rounds and one ,agazine in the jurisdiction of P/S Vijaypur.
A police party of P/S Vijaypur headed by SHO, P/S Vijaypur, Inspector, Chaman Ghorkha under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Baljeet Singh during vehicle checking at naka point Gurah Morh,Vijaypur signaled to stop a white colour Swift car bearing Registered No. PB02-7569 which was coming from Gurah Slathian toward Vijaypur. The driver on seeing the policemen left the car and fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
During checking of the car, one Auto Pistol No. 765 T Round made in USA, one Magazine, four live rounds, one mobile and driving license were recovered from the car.
The accused who managed to escape from the spot has been identified as Vikas Slathia alias Vicky S/o Ravinder Singh R/o Gurah Morh, Vijaypur who is a hardcore criminal and involved in a number of criminal cases registered at P/S Vijaypur.
In this regard a case FIR No. 125/2019 U/S 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at P/S Vijaypur and manhunt has been launched to nab him.
