Addressing an election rally in Madhya Pradesh, Shah said when the BJP came to power at the Centre under Narendra Modi’s leadership in 2014, within 10 days of Uri and Pulwama attacks, India conducted surgical and air strikes inside Pakistan to eliminate terrorists.
He said the Modi Government abrogated Article 370 and integrated Kashmir with India forever. The Centre has also effectively curbed terrorism, he added.
Shah also slammed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for asking what the rest of India has to do with Kashmir and said the latter doesn’t know that every inch of the country is owned by its people.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said if Pakistan feels that it is not capable of ending terrorism emanating from its soil, it can take India’s help. He said while Jammu and Kashmir is buzzing with development, the people of Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) feel that if anyone can improve their lives, it’s India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing elections rallies in Madhya Pradesh and in an interview to a news agency, Rajnath declared that if Pakistan tries to destabilize India using terrorism, it will have to face the consequences.
“Pakistan should end terrorism emanating from its soil. However, if the country feels it is not capable of doing so; it can take India’s help. If Pakistan thinks that it is not capable to control terrorism, then India is a neighbour. If they want to take India’s help, they should. India is ready to provide all assistance to combat terrorism,’’ Rajnath said.
However, he said this is their (Pakistan’s call) and he is just giving a suggestion.
The Defence Minister said Jammu and Kashmir is today buzzing with development and the people of PoJK now feel that if anyone can improve their lives, it is India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The Modi-led Centre scrapped Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, removing its special status, in the blink of an eye,’’ he said.
He said the people of PoJK might say they want to go with India’s Jammu and Kashmir. “Means, they want PoJK to be (annexed) with India,” he said, adding, “As far as PoJK is concerned, it was, is and will be ours.”
Rajnath Singh said that India will do everything to combat terrorism. “We won’t allow terrorists to operate within Indian borders. We will do everything to stop it,” he said. Asked if such action can be taken across the border, he said, “we will see what happens”.
PTI Adds: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today slammed the INDIA bloc for practicing dynastic politics, and said in the upcoming elections, people have to choose between a leader who works for taking every section of society forward and those who promote their own family members.
Addressing back-to-back election rallies in Madhya Pradesh in support of BJP Lok Sabha candidates, Shah asserted that for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, only four “castes” exist in the country and they are the poor, youth, farmers and women, and his main aim was their empowerment.
“Members of the INDI Alliance won’t be able to do any good for people. These dynastic parties will never do any good for the poor, Dalits, farmers, youths, tribal, women and backward communities. If there is anyone who is committed to their welfare, then it is Prime Minister Modi’s Government,” the former BJP president maintained.
These parties can only indulge in corruption and financial irregularities, and that is reflected in their history too as he highlighted UPA-era scams like those related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2G, land-for-jobs, Saradha chit fund, and the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, among others, he said.
“The only aim of these family-oriented parties is to get power for their sons, daughters and nephews. The aim of Sharad Pawar is to make his daughter Chief Minister (of Maharashtra), Uddhav Thackeray to make his son CM, (M K) Stalin to make his son CM, Mamata Banerjee to make her nephew CM (of Bengal) and of (Congress leader) Sonia Gandhi to make Rahul Baba Prime Minister,” Shah remarked.
