Cong leaders resent action against senior members

JAMMU, June 1: Expressing strong resentment against the move of the Congress Disciplinary Action Committee serving notices to the senior party leaders G S Charak, A G Vakil  and Prem Sagar Aziz with regard to the allegations of alleged anti-party activities as appeared in a section of press today, several senior party leaders from Jammu have said that this move has caused discouragement among the rank and file of the dedicated grass- root party workers.
In a meeting held here, these leaders described this move as most unfortunate and said that some people within the party or outside have tried to weaken the organization. It has also caused resentment and discouragement among the committed and dedicated workers.
They appealed the party high command for its intervention so that all such issues could be discussed at Party level without making it public. These leaders affirmed that the party stands united under the leadership of  AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the Congress party has stood the test of time, because its functioning  is based on inner party democracy. They said the issue related to the streamlining of organizational structure were discussed with the JKPCC president in a close door meeting to make the party more affective and vibrant. The president while replying to the observations raised by senior leaders, was almost in agreement with their suggestions. He had also assured to sort out the same in consultations, they maintained.
The leaders felt strongly that strengthening of Congress in the State is important in view of the communal polarization in the State for which ruling alliance is fully responsible.
Those who attended meeting included Jugal Kishore Sharma-MLC, Janak Raj Gupta Ex-MP, former ministers G S Charak,  RS Chib and  Prem Sagar Aziz, former PCC vice president Th Hari Singh,  former Dy Chairman Legislative Council Arvinder Singh Mickey, Jagdish Sapolia (Ex-MLA), Ashok Sharma (Ex-MLA), Amolak Singh former PCC general secretary and PCC secretary Hukum Chand Sharma.
