Cong leaders appeal people to maintain amity, peace

JAMMU, Aug 7: Expressing serious concern over the growing situation in several part of  Jammu region in the wake of prolonged unrest in the Valley, several senior Congress leaders have felt the need to remain vigilant about the designs of communal, anti-national and anti-social elements against disturbing peace and religion harmony in the region.
In a joint statement issued here today, senior Congress leaders  Sham Lal Sharma, GM Saroori, MLA, Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Ravinder Sharma, Usman Majid, M S Niaz, Haider Shaikh, Jahangir Mir Dy Chairman LC, Shabir  Ahmed Khan, MLAs Ch Ajaz Khan, Vikar Rasool Wani, Mohd Akram and Mumtaz Khan; MLCs Naresh Gupta and Sham Lal Bhagat; Ashok Dogra Ex-MLA, Bashir Naaz, Iqbal Malik and S Rajinder Singh  have appealed to the people to defeat the designs of communal and divisive forces and maintain religious brotherhood and peace. They cautioned people and Govt to remain vigilant about the designs and activities of communal forces and anti-social elements and isolate such miscreants in the society who are hell bent to give provocations to disturb the peace and harmony.
The Congress leaders appealed to the saner elements in the society about the need to redouble their efforts to channelise the forces of secularism and togetherness to play their role. They said that Congress party is a unifying force to strengthen the bonds of unity, integrity and brotherhood and to defeat  the evil designs of those forces who want to divide and polarize the society and disturb harmony, particularly in the wake of Machhail and Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra  in the region.
