KATHUA, Aug 1: Highlighting various problems and demands of common public Congress activists under the leadership of former MLC, Subash Gupta took out a protest rally in Hiranagar town and later staged sit in protest in front of SDM office.
The protesters carrying placards raised slogans against opening of Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur and Thandi Khui, unscheduled power cuts, and demanded filling of posts of doctors in Sub District Hospital Hiranagar and grant of district status to Hiranagar.
Subash Gupta said that now with the establishment of Toll Plaza at Lakhanpur and Thandi Khui, the common people are going to face the burden as not only the pilgrims but the goods carrying vehicles will also have to pay hefty charges at these two places.
Subash Gupta further said that in lack of power supply the farmers are finding it hard to irrigate their paddy fields. He also alleged that twenty thousand farmers had not received their crop damage insurance despite paying the insurance charges.
“Is this the way the Government is going to double the income of the farmer in coming time,” he irked.
As far as medical facilities at Sub District Hospital concerns are still at blur. Highlighting the lack of facilities he told that the posts of doctors including , Ortho, E N T, and Eyes, are lying vacant which are needed to be fulfilled immediately in the interest of public of the Sub Division, Hiranagar.
Gupta referring to demand of district status for Hiranagar said that it is need of the time that Hiranagar should be upgraded as district. The reason being Hiranagar Sub Division area complies of Kandi area and border area, which is the largest population area. There is approximately four Lakh population of Hiranagar zone and we request Governor to take this matter on priority basis.
Subash Gupta further said that Hiranagar constituency is having more number of Tehsils and blocks, and population as compared to other Tehsils. Some area of Hiranagar fall in Kandi belt and more along the International border.
Jugal Kishore Bali, Ganesh Sharma, Murari Lal, Vinay Sharma, Rajeev Gupta, Praveen Bhagat, Bhola Nath, Tarsem Lal, B L Kandley, Romesh Kundal, Narinder Rathore, Veena Devi, Bhagwan Dass, Ganesh Dass, Dr Ravinder Singh, Ruldu Ram, Suresh Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Bittu Thapa, Shrishta Devi, Yash Pal, Chander Shekhar, Mool Raj, Rattan Chand, Rakesh Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, and many others participated in the protest rally.
