JAMMU, Mar 14: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that Congress Party was emerging stronger day by day in the State.
While addressing party workers at a joining function of the party in Gandhinagar today, Bhalla said that Congress is the only party which has its greater presence in every nook and corner of the State. He said the party is getting stronger gradually and more and more people are joining it as they liked its secular credentials and policies. He claimed that party will win coming elections.
On this occasion, independent contesting candidate of Ward No. 54, Narender Sharma Happy joined Congress along with his supporters in presence.
Welcoming Sharma into the party fold, Bhalla said the people had realised that the Congress party was capable enough to defeat the “communal and fascist forces” and maintain communal harmony and unity in the country. He claimed that his party was the only unifying force in the country and the state, fully capable of defeating “the forces hell bent upon to divide people on communal lines”.
He said the new entrants have reposed their faith in the Congress’ programmes and policies. He said Congress alone can ensure equitable development in all the three regions of the State.
“The Congress has always provided a vibrant platform to youths to play their designated role in the state polity and help in shaping its politico-economic destiny,” Bhalla said adding that the time has come to unite and defeat communal forces which are befooling the poor with false slogans.
