Cong displays strength in massive road show

SRINAGAR, May 24: The Congress workers led by PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and assisted by former Minister Usman Majid and Ex- PYC chief Shoiab Nabi Lone displayed a show of strength during a massive road show from Srinagar to Bandipur today.
Prof Soz was taken in the from a large rally by the Congress workers in a decorated vehicle from the outskirts of Srinagar to Bandipur. He was greeted by the people and party workers at various places on the way. The people accorded warm welcome to the PCC president and projected their problems before him.
While addressing large gathering at Bandipur Prof Soz said that he was deeply impressed by the level of motivation shown by Congress workers for the Party’s cause which is service to the people. Prof Soz praised Usman Majid, former Minister and Congress leader for his dynamism and capacity to remain close to the workers so that people’s problems are solved.
Prof Soz told the gathering that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was going to visit Kashmir on June 25 and that will be the occasion for all shades of people to meet him.
The PCC president also sanctioned Rs 30 lakh for construction of road to Degree College Bandipur. Later, he addressed the gatherings at Nesbal and Guroora villages.
Earlier, he inaugurated newly set up Post Office at Bandipur. On this occasion Chief Post Master General John Samuel was present. The PCC leader also listened to the issues of people at Dodhwan ( Saderkote), Malapora, Chewa, Dangarpora and Nesbal and asked Deputy Commissioner to look into the public complaints.
