JAMMU, Aug 30: The Congress party worked for decades to foster social tranquillity, brotherhood by uniting people. The top leadership of the party has been trying to provide opportunities to people of all hues, communities and beliefs without any discrimination. This was stated by JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla while addressing new entrants who joined Congress under the leadership of well known social and political figure Heena Bhatti at Haji Mustafa Colony Sunjwan .
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Bittu Sharma, Haji Walli Mohd, Nekh Mohd , Rajani, Santosh Mahajan, Parvez Ahmed, Raj Mohd , Parvez Ali, Shabir Choudhary besides others.
Welcoming the new entrants into Congress family, Bhalla congratulated them over joining the party saying that it is the Congress alone which has served the people to the best of their ability, as that the party feels duty bound to the wellbeing of the people in J&K. He said Congress has always taken care of urges and aspiration of every section of the erstwhile State and it will continue to safeguard their interests.
Congress will become number one party in J&K in the upcoming elections. Winds of change are sweeping through J&K. In a big boost to the Congress party’s prospects, more and more people are aligning with us to take the message of love and prosperity forward. This is evidente that the voice of the people of the UT is in favour of the Congress and that our march is on the right track, towards power,” Bhalla said.
He said that it was not about the fight for power but a fight for freedom from the “anti-people policies” of the Government.
Bhalla said Congress worked tirelessly to instil the democratic values among its workers while striving hard to strengthen the secular and democratic values in society in the country. He said history provides proof that the Congress made all out efforts to percolate the sense of responsibility, significance of the unity, sacredness of democratic values and its institutions as well as the sanctity of the Constitution down to the grassroots level.
Describing BJP-led Government at the Centre and the administration in the Union Territory (UT) as anti-people, he regretted that instead of solving basic problems of the people, the BJP has been pursuing politics of hatred and divisive. “It is high time to educate people about the evil designs of the BJP to save the future of our younger generation,” he added.
