Cong clears Sapolia, Shingari

JAMMU, Nov 11: The Congress today released a list of two candidates for Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The list, cleared by the Central Election Committee of the party and released by AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistry, includes Jagdish Raj Spolia from Basohli seat and Surinder Singh Shingari from Jammu West.
Sapolia had recently joined Congress after being denied mandate by the BJP. He is sitting BJP MLA from Basohli. Shingari had contest 2008 Assembly election from Jammu West as Independent candidate and finished runners up ahead of Congress candidate Mangat Ram Sharma.
The five-phase election to the J&K Assembly are scheduled to be held from November 25 to December 20. Counting of votes will be held on December 23.
