BISHNAH, May 5: Congress Committee Bishnah under the leadership of District president (Jammu Rural), Neeraj Kundan today burnt the effigy of the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) in a powerful demonstration against the continuous harassment of common citizens and the rigid implementation of the outdated JDA Master Plan 2016.
Addressing the protestors, Kundan said, “The JDA Master Plan prepared in 2016 during the BJP-PDP Government has become a major cause of suffering for the common people. Despite repeated demands, neither the previous nor the present Government has reviewed this plan. Poor families are unable to construct houses on their own land, while corruption and bribery have reached their peak in the JDA offices.”
Kundan strongly demanded the immediate review and revision of the JDA Master Plan to provide relief to the affected residents. He accused the administration of adopting high-handed tactics that are making life difficult for the poor and middle-class sections of society.
The Congress workers raised slogans against the JDA and demanded immediate intervention by the government to resolve the genuine grievances of the people. They warned that if the Master Plan is not reviewed at the earliest, the Congress Party will be forced to intensify its agitation across the region.
Neeraj reiterated that the Congress Party stands firmly with the common people and will continue to raise its voice against any unjust and anti-people policies of the authorities. The protest saw enthusiastic participation from Congress workers and local leaders.
Prominent among those present were Constituency Incharge- Dwarka Choudhary, Block president Bishnah Vijay Tagotra, Block president Gurmeet Singh, Yashpal, Surinder Devgowda, Munna Sharma, Madan Bhagat, Jagir Lal, Capt. Harisharan, Rahul Sharma, Sarthi and several other office bearers and workers.
