JAMMU: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Wednesday accused Congress and its allies of deliberately holding back important national and central projects in Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency represented by him.
Continuing with a series of Mandal (Block) level meetings with BJP Karyakartas as well as Sarpanches and Punches in different Assembly segments, Dr Singh said, BJP will go to the people and raise the question why important and game-changing national projects like Shahpur-Kandi were held back for 40 years.
“So many Governments represented by Congress and its allies came and went, but the project was not moved forward”, he alleged.
“It was only after the intervention of the Modi Government that the project was revived, but even though the Punjab Government was ready to go ahead, the State Government was still reluctant and could be approved only after the imposition of the Governor’s Rule,” said Dr Jitendra. (AGENCIES)
