Conference on ‘Islamic Banking & Finance’ concludes at BGSBU

RAJOURI, Apr 20: The two-day International Conference on Islamic Banking & Finance,  organized by School of Management Studies, BGSB University,  concluded here today.
During the conference, more than 60 presentations were made beside the number of expert talks on the Islamic banking, its prospects and  challenges.
Eminent Scholars stressed upon the need of organizing such conferences to mobilize the concept of Islamic finance and to deter the misconceptions related with Islamic banking and finance.
The conference concluded with the valedictory function in which the summary of the two days conference was presented by the organizing secretary of the conference Dr  Danish Iqbal Raina.
Dr  Nasreem from Islamia College Srinagar presented here experience during the conference while  Riaz Trumboo also spoke on the occasion.
It was followed by certificate distribution where certificates for the conference were distributed to the various participants by  Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof  Javed Mussarat & Dean, School of Management Studies, Prof. Naseem Ahmed.
Prof Javid Mussarat highlighted his vision for transorming BGSBU into a research driven socially responsible institution of excellence.
The vote of thanks was presented by Vinay Sharma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies.
The best paper award of the conference was presented to  Saima Javid and Irfan Masoodi
Earlier, the second day started with the first technical session in which about 25 presentations were made by the participants from different States of the country. The session was chaired by Prof  Valeed Ansari,  who made the concluding remarks on  presentation of the researchers.
The second technical session was chaired by Prof  Javed Khan and more than 25 presentations were delivered. Prof  Javed Khan critically examined the research papers presented by the various researchers and  made the concluding remarks on them.
