KATRA, Apr 22: The Department of Oncology at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-speciality Hospital (SMVDNSH) organized a one-day conference on Endocrine Malignancies under the aegis of Indian Association of Surgical Oncology at Hospital campus.
The function was inaugurated by Dr M M Harjai (CAO- SMVDNSH), Dr B N Kapoor, Brig Med NC HQ, Dr Shirish Dhoble, Clinical Director, SMVDNSH, Dr T Subramenshawar Rao, IASO faculty, Dr KS Mehta, HoD Surgery, ASCOMS and Dr Tariq Parvez Azad, Professor, GMC Jammu.
The topics discussed in the conference were breast cancer, adrenal, thyroid and pancreas & testicular cancers. The doctors who delivered on topics were Dr Sunil Kotwal, Dr Elias Sharma, Dr Rahul Gupta, Dr Vikrant Chandel, Dr Sanjay Dhar, Dr Manoj Gupta, Dr Sandeep Kaul, Dr Rajeev Saini, Dr Satyanker Gupta and Dr Tapan Sharma.
The IASO has planned this academic meet with the intent to encourage young doctors to learn oncologic principles and take up oncology as career.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Man Mohan Harjai said that SMVD Narayana Hospital is the first of its kind in the State of Jammu and Kashmir to offer 360-degree cancer care under one roof and ensures best of the treatment for the citizens of State and neighbouring region.
