RAJOURI, Nov 25: A meeting of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations, district unit Rajouri, was held today under the chairmanship of Babar Chowdhary, district president for urging the Government to take measures for saving reservation.
In the meeting, great concern was expressed over the alleged anti-reservation policies of the Government. The members demanded remedial action for protection of their Constitutional rights and privileges, being debarred by pronouncement of judgement of the High Court.
A large number of people from various social and religious organization as well as political leaders, cutting across the party lines attended the meeting and joined the voice for saving reservation.
The meet appealed the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed for his intervention into the matter and issue necessary instructions for remedial measures to restore the Reservation Act 2014 of J&K State.
The meet also demanded implementation of Mandal Commission report in J&K, reservation in private sector, clearance of backlog in Government services etc.
Babar Chowdhary appealed all the reserved category people to participate in the rally, which shall be organized on December 3 at Rajouri for saving the reservation.
Speakers in the meeting, included Dr N K Waqar, Moulvi Mohd Akram, Ch Masud, Advocate Zaki, Suraj Parkash, Ram Lal, Ch Liyaqat, Manzoor Khan and others.
