JAMMU, Nov 21: Cadre of All India Confederation of SC/ ST/OBC Organisations assembled at Ambedkar Chowk, here today and resented the UT Govt decisions for changing the various provisions meant for providing relaxations to the SC ST OBCs.
They showed resentment against non fulfillment of the promises made by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah at the time of abrogation of Article 370 and 35 A. “They said that Ache Din will come for the vulnerable sections of J&K but the rights which the SC/ST/OBCs were getting earlier that too have been snatched by way of implementing new rules,” they alleged.
Earlier, they said, SC and STs were getting 5 years of concession in age relaxation and OBCs were getting 3 years in recruitment of jobs but now in recent advertisement for the recruitment of Sub Inspector in the Home Department, LG Govt has snatched their concessions rights.
While addressing the gathering, State President of the Confederation and Patron NSYF, R K Kalsotra said that the confederation wrote to LG Manoj Sinha at various times but no heed was paid to their grievances. “Our youth have sent one lakh mail and tweets to LG Manoj Sinha, CS and DGP to modify the advertisement and restore the age concession as per Govt of India but it was yet not restored and it looks that LG Sarkar is “Deaf & Blind” in respect of SC ST & OBCs rights,” he alleged.
Other who spoke, were Sikender Bhagat, Mohan Lal, Ramesh Sarmal, Raj Kumar Meenia, Imran Ch, Darshan Bassan, Dya Ram, Viney Rai, Vivek Kaith, Sunil Bangotra, Ashok Kumar, Rohit Kaith and Bahadur Lal Pajuotra.
