JAMMU, June 19: High Court today directed the State to conduct Departmental Promotion Committee meeting for the promotion of Naib-Tehsildars.
The direction was passed in a petition filed by Arjun Singh and others regarding delay in consideration of their cases as well as those of other eligible candidates for the promotion.
After hearing Advocate FA Natnoo appearing for the petitioner, Justice Tashi Rabstan issued notices to State and in the meanwhile directed respondents to strictly adhere to Rule 25 of J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956 in respect of adhoc arrangements made for the post of Naib-Tehsildar.
The official respondents were further directed to ensure conduct of DPC and finalize the process of consideration for the promotions to the post of Naib Tehsildar.
