JAMMU, Oct 24: BJP Kashmir Displaced Unit in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its president, T N Bhat expressed anguish over the functioning of Relief Organisation in tackling the issues of Kashmiri migrants, here.
Mr Bhat said that the Relief Organisation instead of providing relief and succor to the hapless displaced community is harassing and humiliating it and derives pleasure by putting the community members to great inconvenience and trouble.
He said the recent example is about the issuance of ration cards, which are yet to be issued even at the year end, adding that it has been learnt that a coupon for each month will be issued by the zonal officers.
Mr Bhat further said despite meeting Relief Commissioner personally many a time with regard to speedy disposal of pending cases of bifurcation, inclusion and allied matters, unfortunately nothing is evident on the ground.
He alleged that the Relief Organisation has become a den of corruption, malpractices and favouritism, adding that the community members are left with no alternative except greasing palms of concerned officials.
