Concern over delay in delivery of EPIC cards to migrants

JAMMU, Nov 19: Various KP organizations have expressed delay in submission of voters’ lists and inclusion of names of bonafide migrants in it besides the delivery of EPIC to migrant voters needed for the time of casting their votes.
In a statement here today Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) president Shadi Lal Pandita urged the authorities to keep the voter lists available at Jagti township, Buta Nagar, Muthi, Nagrota and Purkhoo camps and other non camp zonal offices so that the migrants can ascertain whether their names have been included in the lists or not.
He also demanded immediate preparation of EPIC cards for migrant voters as the process has been delayed a lot.
Meanwhile Samajwadi Party Migrant Cell president InderJi Labroo said that the epic voter cards for some migrants of Anantnag district have been received while the other districts have so far failed to furnish the same. He appealed the Government to issue directives to concerned authorities to deliver the EPIC cards of migrants to Relief Organisation as early as possible.
