Complete shutdown in Leh over youth’s killing

LEH, Apr 23: A complete shutdown here today put normal life out of gear.
The shutdown call was given by religious organizations like Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), Anjuman Imamiya, Anjuman Moin Ul-Islam and Christian Association with the support of Merchant Association over the killing of a youth in the town.

All the business establishments remained close and entire Leh town wore a deserted look.
Addressing a joint press conference at Press Club Leh LBA president, Tsewang Thinles, vice president, P.T Kunzang, Anjuman Moin Ul-Islam Youth president, Advocate Ramzan Khan, Anjuman Imamiya vice president, Mehboob Ali and Christian Association president Dechen Chamga condemned the killing and expressed resentment against law enforcing agencies for having allegedly failed to maintain law and order in the city.
Leaders of religious organizations said, police must accept its failure to maintain law and order in the city and rural areas.
They further alleged that there is no proper labour verification thus resulting in law and order problem in the city.
