Complaint filed against BJP leaders for bribing media

LEH, May 4: Alleging that some BJP leaders tried to bribe the media persons on May 2, some members of Press Club Leh (PCL) today submitted a written complaint against BJP to Station House Officer, Leh.
“On May 2, the BJP organized a press conference at a hotel in Leh around 2 PM and after the press conference was over, BJP leaders including State president, Ravinder Raina and MLC Vikram Randhawa tried to bribe media persons by offering money in envelopes, in an attempt to use media to influence the outcome of the elections,” the PCL members said in their complain to the SHO.
The complainants namely Morup Stanzin, Tsewang Rigzin, Rinchen Augmo, Taslin Lundup, Stanzin Desal, Tsewang Paldan and Stanstrung Dorjay said they did not accept the offer of the BJP leaders and rejected it outrightly.
“Media fraternity of Ladakh strongly condemns this act of BJP leaders and,” they said and demanded registration of FIR against BJP leaders, Ravinder Raina and Vikram Randhawa for violating Model Code of Conduct and attempting to bribe media persons of Ladakh.
