Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 21: Congress leader from Bhaderwah, Nadeem Sharief  Niaz has said that  Communal tension being created in the Jammu and Kashmir  is aimed at derailing development in the State.
Addressing large  rally at  Bhallesa to express grief and anguish over the demise of young  truck  cleaner  Zahid Ahmed of Kashmir,  who died of severe burn injuries because of Udhampur petrol bomb attack, Mr Niaz secretary (publicity) PCC demanded stern action against the accused persons.   He condemned the attack on young operator who later died in Delhi during treatment.  Niaz said that such incidents are aimed to vitiate the peace among different sections of society. Such incidents in past few months have made people feel insecure and it does not auger with the culture and harmony of nation.
Mr Niaz said that growing atmosphere of intolerance is weakening the social fabric of the nation and needs to be dealt seriously. The hate mongers should realize that the law and constitution of the nation has no space for such type of activities.  The vision of our leaders should be to make nation as a developed nation and an economic superpower.  As long communal tension inside the country is not eased, the internal security of nation can not be ensured, despite huge strength of army and para-military forces, he maintained.
Once the communal tension inside the nation subsides and internal security is ensured, then only we would be in a position to compete with the world. Only when the internal security is ensured nation can embark on the path towards development and economic advancement, Niaz maintained.
He said the people need awakening and joint efforts by enlightened people of all communities, as peace is good for all and strife is harmful to everybody.
Nadeem  expressed concern over the efforts being made to cope with the situation and demanded exemplary punishment to those who are responsible for such incidents.
