SRINAGAR, Aug 11:  Former J&K  Chief Minister and National Conference working president,  Omar Abdullah has alleged that common man in Kashmir is bearing the brunt of PDP-BJP Government.
Omar conducted an extensive tour of  his Beerwah constituency and interacted with the people at Raksum, Bongam, Gagarpora and Narbal and listened to their grievances.
The president said that the common-man was bearing the brunt of the PDP-BJP Coalition Government which had brought developmental works throughout the State to a grinding halt.
“Employees are without their salaries, contractors are not getting their payments, there is no sign of rehabilitation of flood victims and the reconstruction of public infrastructure  was devastated by the floods. The common man has to run from pillar to post for the Government to even acknowledge his grievances as Ministers and MLAs of the ruling dispensation have turned a blind eye towards the miseries of the common-man”, Omar said.
The former CM released money for sanitation facilities at the Bongam Government School and asked the local administration to allot a transformer and electric poles for Raksum and also allotted a passenger shed for Bongam.
Omar also condemned the harassment of youth across the Valley and said that such tactics would lead to further alienation and isolation. “The anti-youth tendencies of the PDP-BJP Government of  Mufti Mohammad Sayeed have exposed PDP’s inherent hypocrisy. This Government has made its intentions very clear. It wants to persecute the people as this Coalition of U-turns has been rejected by the people”, Omar added.
“We have to empower our youth to find solutions to our economic, social and political problems. We have to bring them to the forefront and involve them in matter of policy making and governance.  He said the party membership drive which is going across the State, will focus on the youth and we are committed to the empowerment of youth. The State has been pushed into an atmosphere of chaos and uncertainty by the PDP-BJP Coalition and NC alone can unite all the three regions of the State and defeat sinister designs of communalism and division”, the NC working president said.
