Committee set up for road widening

JAMMU, July 9: The State Government today ordered constitution of a committee to be headed by Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam as Chairman to examine issues related to widening of Amphalla-Janipur road and decongestion of Janipur-High Court road.
The Committee will have Administrative Secretary Public Works (R&B) as the Member Secretary, an official order issued today by the GAD said.
The Members included Administrative Secretaries of Finance, Housing and Urban Development, Planning Development and Monitoring and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Departments, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Chief Executive Officer, J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency and Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Jammu.
The Committee has been asked to examine shifting of utilities on Janipur-High Court link road and payment to the Power Development Department for making such a shifting possible, consider reports furnished by the RITES to put in place a futuristic mobility plan as suggested by the RITES, consider widening of existing road as suggested in the proposal prepared by the Public Works (R&B) Department, pending execution of the Metro project and any other related issue the committee may feel desirable on the subject to be discussed.
