Committee set up on Govt schemes

JAMMU, Jan 16: The Government today constituted a Committee to identify reasons for poor performance under various Government sponsored schemes.
An order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), held by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, said the Committee will be headed by the Administrative Secretary, Finance Department as the Chairman and will have 10 members.
The members included Administrative Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Labour Commissioner, Director Employment, Director Agriculture, Director Rural Development Department, Jammu/ Kashmir and representatives of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd, NABARD, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and HDFC Bank.
The Committee has been asked to identify the reasons of poor performance under various Government sponsored schemes vis-à-vis financing through banks, recommend measures to address identified problems and make any other recommendations.
The Commission has been asked to submit report within three weeks.
