Committee formed to reform JKPCC’s cost estimation procedure

JAMMU, June 19: Government today accorded sanction to constitution of a committee for reformation of cost estimation procedure of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited and also constituted a Group of Officers to supervise the Project and Management Cost Control System in the Corporation.
According to a Government order, Development Commissioner (Works) J&K, will be the chairman of the committee for reformation of cost estimation procedure of JKPCC while Chief Engineer PWD(R&B) Kashmir, Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department Jammu, Chief Engineer PHE Department Kashmir, Chief Engineer (M&RE) PDD Jammu, Chief Engineer Design Inspections and Quality Control J&K, Executive Director JKPCC and Director Finance PWD (R&B) will be its members.
The committee will examine the existing cost estimation procedures by the Corporation and submit a detailed proposal for making the procedure more transparent, cost effective and include service level indicators on the outcome of the projects. It will also explore the option of proper technical vetting of the DPRs through third party.
As per the order, the committee will be serviced by the JKPCC Limited and will submit its recommendations within a period of 15 days.
Meanwhile, issuing another order, Government today constituted a Group of Officers to supervise the Project and Management Cost Control System in JKPCC Limited. The Group of Officers will be comprised of Administrative Secretary Finance Department (chairman) and Managing Director JKPCC, Development Commissioner (Works) J&K, Director Finance PWD (R&B) and Financial Controller JKPCC as members.
