JAMMU, Dec 27: To commemorate the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a programme was organized by the Resham Ghar Mohalla Welfare Committee for distribution of blankets among needy people.
The programme was organized under the leadership of G S Thakur and Jatinder Kour while Vice Chairman JAKFED, Munish Sharma was chief guest on the occasion and he distributed blankets to the distressed people of all ages.
While addressing the gathering, JAKFED Vice Chairman urged all people, especially youths to come forward and donate some part of their saving to deserving families who sleep under open sky in this harsh weather on roads and in streets.
He further asked the people to take maximum benefit of State and Centrally sponsored schemes like State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, etc. being provided for the benefit of people. “Govt is committed to provide all possible financial assistance to weaker and vulnerable sections of society for their overall upliftment,” he said.
G S Thakur and Jatinder Kour also spoke on the occasion and announced that the Mohalla Welfare Committee would continue to extend its helping hand to needy and poor.
