JAMMU, Feb 9: Government today formed a State level committee for estimation of ground water resources in J&K.
According to the order, Administrative Secretary, PHE, I&FC Department is the chairman of the committee while Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Jammu/Kashmir; Chief Engineer, I&FC Department, Jammu/ Kashmir; Director, Rural Sanitation, J&K; Director, Agriculture, Jammu/ Kashmir and Director, Industries, Jammu/ Kashmir are members of the committee.
Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Jammu is the members secretary of the committee. Besides this, if required, the chairman of the committee can co-opted any other officer as a special invitee in the committee.
The terms of reference of the committee will be to estimate annual replenishable ground water resources of the State in accordance with the Ground Water Resources Estimation Methodology and estimate the status of the utilization of the annual replenishable ground water resources.
The committee shall be services by the PHE, I&FC Department.
