Commercial Taxes employees’ delegation meets Drabu

JAMMU, June 16: J&K Commercial Taxes Employees Association called on Finance Minster Dr Haseeb Drabu, Commissioner  Secretary, Finance and Commissioner Secretary GAD in Civil Secretariat Srinagar and discussed the demands of the employees of the Excise and Commercial Taxes Department with them.
The delegation was led by Nazir Ahmed Bhat president of the Association Jammu Division and Parvez Ahmed Dar president Kashmir province. The issues discussed included categorization/ absorption of date entry operators who have stagnated for 17 long years, upgradation of post of audit supervisor/ stamp supervisor and reader, utilization of newly created posts under different categories for promotion in favour of stagnated employees of the Department, formulation of non gazetted service recruitment rules of the department, modification of SRO 58 of 1991 as there are some errors and discrepancies which need to be modified as per the latest requirement of the recruitment.
Mr Bhat stressed upon the Government to remove the pay anomalies of process servers, guards, sub inspectors and ministerial cadre and said the issue is pending before the Finance Department. He further submitted before the authorities that these employees are discharging their duties with dedication round the clock and they are also giving a good revenue to the Department. He said the branches of Finance Department have been provided technical grades where as Excise and Commercial taxes has fully adopted the IT regime but they have been ignored.
The Minister assured that the genuine demands will be settled at the earliest.
