SAMBA, Dec 8: As part of ambitious ‘My Town My Pride’ (MTMP) 2.0 programme of providing services to people at their doorsteps, Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment, Sarita Chauhan and Director General, Social Welfare Jammu, Vivek Sharma (Visiting Officers) today reviewed functioning of Samba Municipality besides conducting interaction session with ULB Councilors regarding their issues.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, CPO Sukhleen Kour, ADC, Rakesh Dubey, Executive Officer, Municipality Samba besides other district officers and Urban Local Body councilors were also present on the occasion.
Executive Officer informed about status of various mega projects including town upgradation of Municipal Complex, Samba, construction of multi functional complex at Bus Stand Samba with shopping complex, upgradation of ponds, community hall, children’s park besides highlighting other works being executed under District Capex Budget, IDMT, material recovery facility, PMAY-U, PMSvaNidhi, IHHL.
Visiting Officers laid stress on provision of public services at doorsteps of general public with focus on those living in unorganized townships, priority households besides ensuring 100% saturation under IHHL facility in Samba town.
Under PM SVANIDHI scheme, visiting officers asked the officers to ensure that all eligible street vendors be provided with 100% trade licenses. “The Rehri walas spots should be fixed at a suitable place in a systematic manner so that separate rehri zones be created. Besides, each and every Rehri wala should carry dustbins along with them for waste management to keep their surroundings neat and clean”, added the Visiting Officers.
They stressed on creating massive awareness on digitization of services through online portals, green city plan under which e-Rickshaws should be used in place of petrol /diesel vehicles, usage of door to door waste carriers and other initiatives of government in the town area. They exhorted upon all members of ULBs to carry out massive plantation drives near railway station, mega projects sites so that aesthetics of city can be evolved.
“Under self employment generation schemes awareness be generated among youths on benefits of MUMKIN, TEJASVI, HIMAYAT and other government sponsored schemes”, they added.
Meanwhile, Visiting Officers also distributed cheques among beneficiaries under PMAY (URBAN) Mission. They also conducted an extensive tour of Samba town.
