Come up with locality-wise projects for Kathua: Lal Singh to Govt deptts

KATHUA, Jan 7: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh today asked the officers of R&B, PDD, RDD, PHE, Health, Education and Forest Departments to come up with new locality wise projects for Kathua district so that the people of the area get modern basic facilities.
The instruction in this regard was given by the Minister during public grievances redressal camp held, here today.
The Minister also asked them to prepare plans and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds. He said the present dispensation is committed to provide all civic amenities to the people of the State. He said to fulfill the demand of the people it is the responsibility of the officers to work with utmost dedication and identify the projects immediately.
He said that it is the endeavor of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis. He said that Government is fully aware of people’s problems and committed to ensure speedy redressal of the grievances of people, adding that directions have already been issued to the officers to mitigate the genuine issues of public without any delay.
During the camp, people projected various demands and problems of their respective areas like improvement of drinking water and un-interrupted power supply, upgradation of link roads and lanes and drains in the far-off areas of the Basholi constituency.
Choudhary Lal Singh patiently listened to the grievances of people and assured that genuine issues would be considered and redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the officers to look into all the issues raised by the people and initiate necessary steps for early redressal of the same.
The Minister said that Government is making all out efforts to develop all the villages of the Basholi at par with urban pockets.
Choudhary Lal Singh asserted that three regions of the State have witnessed massive development in all spheres during the current regime and that the Government is duty bound to provide all basic amenities to the people of the State.
Choudhary Lal Singh underlined the need for involvement of public representatives in execution of development works saying that they are the ears and eyes of the Government. He said that vast dimension given to growth and development viz road linkage, construction of bridges, safe drinking water, improved power supply, gardens and better lanes and drains has revolutionized the developmental profile of the State.
Responding to the locals’ demand, Choudhary Lal Singh asked the concerned department to prepare Detailed Project Report for construction of playground at Chadwal village and submit the same for funding so that the project could be started soon for the benefit of the youth of the area.
