JAMMU, Sept 2: Wearing black ribbons, the college teachers across J&K have been protesting against the alleged apathetic and callous attitude of the Government towards their `genuine’ and long pending demands.
They are demanding restoration of Advanced Increments for higher qualifications, regular DPCs with monetary effect from the date of eligibility of placement, immediate adoption of UGC Regulations-2018 by issuing the required Statutory order without any further delay, provision of Study Leave for the pursuit of Ph D, etc.
After observing Pen down strike on August 19, they have been continuing their protest by way of wearing black ribbons on their arms since August 23.
Dr Rakesh Jasrotia, President, J&K College Teachers’ Association (JKCTA) warned that if the Government doesn’t address genuine issues of the college teachers, they will go on indefinite Pen down strike.
