College teachers apprise JU VC of their demands

JAMMU, May 5: A  delegation  of College Teachers Association called on Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma and discussed with him various issues of the cadre.
The delegation, led by CTA president Sanjay Verma, urged that the College teachers should be allowed to act as guide and co-guide for pursuing research, which is an important component to enhance their academic skills and educational acumen.
The CTA also demanded creation of separate Controller of  Examination for conduct of semester exams at Under Graduation level, restoration of various posts, which were earlier represented by the college teachers, reservation of seats for wards of college teachers in university, preference to college teachers for pursuing Ph D and opening of more PG Department in the college to improve  academic excellence.
The Vice-Chancellor gave a patient hearing to CTA  and assured to look into their issue for positive consideration as soon as possible.
