JAMMU, Apr 26: A delegation of College Teachers Association, led by CTA president (Jammu Wing) Prof D S Manhas, held a meeting with Higher Education Department, which was chaired by Altaf Bukhari, Minister for Higher Education, along with Priya Sethi, Minister of State Higher Education, Dr Asgar Samoon, Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education and other functionaries of the Higher Education Department.
In this meeting, the Association raised various demands, which included; placement to Associate grade on pro-rata basis after 21-04-2014 when the SRO-124 was issued by the Higher Education Department, clearing the cases of placement of Assistant Professors from AGP 6000 to AGP 7000 and from AGP 7000 to AGP 8000 without API score as per SRO-124 and prospective implementation of API Score under Higher Education Department order No:161-HE of 2017 dated 22-03-2017, for Assistant Professors in AGP 6000 and AGP 7000.
The Minister listened to the demands and difficulties being faced by the college teachers in implementation of SRO-124 Dated 21-04-2017 and order no 161-HE of 2017 Dated 22-03-2017 regarding API scores. He stated that on the one hand we expect that teachers should improve the standard of higher education scenario but on the other hand we try to enforce stringent measures on them. The Association claimed that the Minister gave on the spot approval to the long pending demands of CTA.
The Association expressed that under positive approach, wisdom and far reaching vision of the Minister, the Higher Education in the State would reach to far heights. The Associations extended full cooperation and support to the Minister.
