SRINAGAR Jan 16: Kashmir valley remained in the grip of cold wave due to dry weather conditions with temperatures dropping further while day temperature showed further improvement.
Srinagar recorded a low of minus 4.9 degrees Celsius, 2 degree up from previous night’s 3.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 13.1 degrees Celsius, which is 6.7 degrees Celsius above normal.
The night temperature in Qazigund, in South Kashmir, stayed at a low of minus 5.2 degrees Celsius which is one degree Celsius down from previous night’s 4.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 12.8 degrees Celsius, 6.5 degrees Celsius above normal.
Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 1.8 degree Celsius same as previous night. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 11.0 degrees Celsius, 6.5 degrees Celsius above normal.
Kupwara in North Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius down from previous night’s 4.8 degree Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 13.2 degrees Celsius, 6.6 degrees Celsius above normal.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 6.0 degrees Celsius, down from previous night’s minus 5.0 degrees Celsius. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius, 4.7 degrees Celsius above normal.
The night temperature in Pahalgam settled at minus 6.6 degrees Celsius last night. The maximum day temperature was recorded at 10.5 degrees Celsius, 6.5 degrees Celsius above normal.
Leh recorded a low of minus 13.8 degrees Celsius last night, two degrees down from previous night’s 10.9 degrees Celsius while the maximum day temperature was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius.
Kargil settled at minus 19.0 degrees Celsius last night while the maximum day temperature was recorded at 3.0 degrees Celsius.
