POONCH, Nov 1: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) has alleged that Omar led Government denied 10 % and 7 % DA installments to the employees and pensioners and also duped thousands of daily rated and casual workers.
Addressing large gathering of low paid workers here today, Federation president Abdul Majid Khan said that strong resentment is brewing among the employees and pensioners against the NC-Congress Government for its anti-worker policy and now they have decided to teach lesson to the coalition partners in coming elections. He said that Coalition Government has miserably failed to honour its commitment and meet the aspiration of the employees and pensioners.
He recalled that before the announcement of Assembly polls it was reported that State Cabinet has approved regularization of daily rated workers engaged after 1994 in phased manner but no further such order was issued.
The daily wager workers who were struggling for their regularization for a pretty long time under the banner of Federation felt cheated and are highly agitated against the callous attitude of Coalition Government. Both the parties are trying to shift onus on each other now and befooling the workers.
The Federation leader said that revision of minimum daily wage to Rs 300, remuneration/ honorarium of village guards and numberdars, ReT teachers, education volunteers, Anganwadi workers/ helpers in accordance with the rise in price index, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000, extension of leave encashment, benefit in respect of teachers, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre employees were some other major demands of the working class which remained unresolved. He alleged that anti-working class and anti-people polcies of central and State Government are responsible for rising price index. Khan appealed the employees to continue their struggle and teach lesson to these parties in elections.
