SRINAGAR, Jan 13: The Coaching Centres Association of Kashmir valley has appealed the authorities to extend the deadline for getting tuition centres registered.
The appeal was made during a meeting of 125 coaching institutes of the Valley, held under the chairmanship of G N War.
The meet discussed the problems being faced by the student community in general and recent steps undertaken by Government for regularization of the coaching industry in particular.
The Association unanimously welcomed and appreciated the regulatory steps laid down by the competent authority and assured all cooperation to the authorities in this regard. However, it expressed reservations over timing of initiating the registration process and appealed to the Director (Education), Kashmir and other relevant authorities to extend the deadline for the same till the end of the current academic session in April.
In light of the fact that the session is underway and the students are coming in terms with the new examination pattern of NEET, JEE (Mains / Advanced) and ISEET, the coaching centres should be allowed to complete the remaining syllabus and these new measures should not affect the session of 2013 which has already commenced, the Association stressed.
The Coaching Centres Association resolved to provide all the constructive suggestions of providing basic amenities like drinking water, bathroom facilities, moral classes and security and scrutiny in their respective educational institutes with immediate effect.
