He also congratulated the Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain and the management of SMVDU for the same.
Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NBCC, A.K. Mittal briefed the Minister about the construction work which, according to him, was started in December 2016 and the final completion was formally accomplished on the 15th of this month.
The new complex raised in the SMVDU campus includes, among other things, Girls’ Hostel, Residential Quarters and Guest house Extension Block.

The Type-II Residential Quarters consist of 48 rooms constructed on a built-up area of 2811 sq. meters
Expressing happiness over the additional blocks constructed in the University which is a part of his constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh said, being an MP from the area, he felt special satisfaction over the construction of new facility by a reputed construction agency like NBCC.
Dr Jitendra Singh suggested that SMVDU could introduce certain exclusive courses and specialized disciplines of learning, which would attract students from far and wide, to seek admission in the University. He referred to the recent setting up of North India’s first-ever “Space Study Centre” by ISRO at Central University, Jammu and hoped that something similar with little more innovative and imaginative approach could be envisaged for the SMVD University as well.
