JAMMU, Oct 5: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Chief Minister to intervene personally in releasing current month salary, pension and pending wages in favour of employees of the State Government, pensioners and 61000 daily rated workers before ensuing Diwali festival so that they could celebrate this festival with religious fervor and gaiety.
Addressing a well attended workers meet here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that this festival is falling in the last week of this month and salaried/working classes, pensioners and daily rated workers become hard up due to the high inflationary pressure in their day to day living having no other source of income.
Shastri hoped that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who has very intelligently and effectively come out of the recent turmoil will take keen interest to release salary/pension along with pending wages to daily rated workers for whom NMC is continuously pursuing for separate wage head for regular payment of monthly wages besides regularization of their services.
The NMC president also demanded strictly implementation of the recent decision of the Central Government to revise the minimum wage rate at Rs 350 per month in the State of Jammu & Kashmir also, so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
Total exemption of DA from income tax, include Jammu city in the proposed list of the 100 smart cities, enhance income tax exemption limit to rupees 5 lakh, and enhancing medical allowance to Rs 2000 per month besides, release of pending installment of DA due from July last, were other demands highlighted on the occasion.
