CM ordered shifting of slaughter house on my protest: Jugal

JAMMU, July 4: BJP State president and MP Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayed has issued orders for shifting of proposed slaughter house from Khanpur Nagrota to an alternate place after he raised the issue during District Development Board (DDB) meeting here, yesterday.
Talking to Excelsior Mr Sharma said it was he who made a strong protest against the proposal of constructing a slaughter house at Khanpur Nagrota adjacent to a temple, a local school and residential houses and said that it will add to nuisance in the area.
He said though the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and DC Jammu said that they have sought the Forest clearance for the Project and the work is about to start the Chief Minister intervened saying when the MP is opposed to it how can they go ahead with the construction, Jugal added.
He said the Chief Minister later issued orders for shifting the proposed slaughter house to an alternative place. The MP said that he made a strong protest over the proposal and said that he has received many representations from the local people in this regard. Construction of slaughter house will add to the peoples problems and moreover hurt their sentiments so it should be shifted to an alternative place, Jugal added.
He said the contention of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu that it will be constructed on the basis latest technology and will have no effect on surroundings was turned down. He refuted that any other legislator from any other party raised the issue on the occasion.
Meanwhile, BJP State President and  MP Jugal Kishore Sharma got approved several developmental works approved in Jammu District Development Board meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohd. Sayeed and attended by DyCM, MLAs and concerned administrative machinery.
On the suggestions of Mr Sharma, several drastic decisions were approved which when implemented will ease the difficulties of the public. Firstly, a sun shade shed at Bahu Fort was approved which was the long pending demand of the people who had been braving the sun during summers and which was a dire need of the visitors at Bahu Fort temple.
Another significant demand of the people to establishment a workshop for repairing of transformers was also approved.
It was decided to establish another workshop to repair transformers at Akhnoor which falls under the constituency of Jugal Kishore Sharma.
In another significant move, the Board decided not to have slaughter house at Jagti. As part of developmental activity a bridge from Indri Pattan to Pargwal will be constructed out of the Central Road Fund scheme. Under the prestigious CRF scheme, it was also decided to construct road from Samba to Sumb.
A fish pond in the village Badore which is so far is in dilapidated condition will be transferred to the Fisheries Department for proper care and development. Certainly, fish pond when developed will attract tourists.
