BANDIPORA, Jan 29: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul today made a scathing attack on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, questioning his commitment to the people who voted for him. “CM should be available to his people who voted for him and granted a huge mandate to the National Conference (NC),” Koul said while addressing a district level meeting cum workshop here.
The workshop was in connection with Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G-RAM G) and the organisational meeting was held with the district team at Bandipora, aimed at strengthening grassroot-level organisational functioning and ensuring effective outreach of Government initiatives.
Koul expressed disappointment over what he described as the Chief Minister’s indifference to the suffering of people across the Valley during these crisis times.
Koul took particular exception to reports of the Chief Minister engaging in recreational activities at Gulmarg while citizens grapple with various hardships. “CM Sahib should look into the sufferings of people across the Valley in these crises rather than enjoy and go skiing in Gulmarg,” he remarked, adding that such actions reflect a disconnect between the leadership and the masses.
Koul further stated, “Now people have understood that their votes were just visas of luxury for their leadership they voted.” He said the ruling dispensation has failed to address public grievances effectively.
Koul was accompanied by BJP State general secretary, Anwar Khan, State secretary, Mudasir Wani, district president, Bandipora, Mudasir Jan and other senior party leaders and office bearers.
Ashok Koul elaborated on the VB G-RAM G Act, describing it as a landmark initiative focused on employment generation, rural empowerment, and inclusive development. The workshop provided detailed insights into the G-RAM-G framework, explaining how the new structure would enhance employment opportunities and livelihood security for people in rural areas.
Following the workshop, party workers meeting was convened where Koul called upon BJP workers to remain vigilant and proactive in assisting people in their respective areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Khan said that the workshop and meetings reflect the party’s strong commitment to grassroot governance and public welfare.
