JAMMU: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today laid stress on more and more interactions and exchanges among the school children of the State so that they are well groomed to face the competitions and challenges of future life.

Chairing the Governing Body meet of Sainik School Manasbal here today, the Chief Minister said besides regular course curriculum the students at school levels need necessary kind of exposure so that they prepare themselves, from very early, for the competitions and challenges of life ahead. She said mechanism for such institutional linkages should be evolved so that the students, besides academics, develop the level of exposure which would be a psychological cushion for them while facing the challenges of life.

Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar and Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said though the students in the schools of the State are very talented but what they lag in is the exposure to face the outer world. She said instances have proved that whenever the students from the State get an opportunity at national or international level they come up with flying colours.

Mehbooba Mufti said Sainik School Manasbal has remained a distinct educational institute in the past and directed taking steps for stabilizing and improving further its educational standards. She directed the completion of compound walling of the school and also necessary up gradation of the physical infrastructure there. She also directed introduction of vocational courses, in line with the local features, at the school so that the students get enough opportunity to display their talents.

Chief Secretary, B. R. Sharma; Financial Commissioner, Planning & Development and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas; Commissioner-Secretary, School Education, Shaleen Kabra; Director Education, Kashmir, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat; Principals of Sainik Schools of Manasbal and Nagrota and other members of the Governing Body were present on the occasion.
