JAMMU, Dec 16: Cluster University of Jammu won the National Pride of India Award for Institutions, during the function held today at the NDMC Convention Centre, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.
The university was selected by a 5- member Jury led by retired Chief Justice of High Court, for Veterans India Pride of Nation Award 2025 in collaboration with National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The evaluation was based on the last one year achievements of the institutions on various parameters.
Veterans India, established in 2015 stands as a national, apolitical, and patriotic organization dedicated to fostering nationalism and patriotism among citizens. The ‘Pride of Nation Award’ stands as a symbol of excellence and empowerment, celebrating universities and colleges which have made remarkable strides in their respective domains and continue to inspire others through their dedication, leadership, and service to the nation.
The National Pride of India State Leadership Honour (University) Award was presented to Prof K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu by Dr T G Sitharam, Chairman- AICTE and Dr Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman-NAAC & NBA in the presence of Sanjay Seth, Minister of State, Defence, Government of India on the Vijay Diwas. Many other dignitaries like Chairman UGC, Jury Chairman P N Raveendran, Retd Chief Justice, Dr B K Mishra, Founder Veterans India, Dr S Pareek, Member Advisory Board, Veterans India, Ram Lal, formar Member of Parliament and President AIU were present on the occasion.
Cluster University of Jammu is the first University to be given the award from J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof K S Chandrasekar mentioned that Cluster University of Jammu is working towards excellence as a committed team. This award will provide 60 marks under activities beyond academics for Universities, strengthens holistic development aligned with Vikasit Bharat-2047.
